QOC Hoours Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah and Moutaz Barsham, Bronze Medallists

Doha, September 08 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has honoured the two Qatari Olympic Champions Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah and Moutaz Barsham for capturing two bronze olympic medals in London Olympic Games. This came during a meeting by HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the QOC Secretary General, where he presented them with QOC's merit shield and the money award set for each of them as per the QOC regulations and byelaws and Qatar Olympic Committee. At the outset of the meeting , HE the QOC Secretary General conveyed to the two Qatari heroes greetings and congratulations of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani , the Heir Apparent and Chairman of the Qatar Olympic Committee for the remarkable grand accomplishment they achieved in London Olympic Games. Sheikh Saoud asserted meantime that such an achievement would be added to the record of the Qatari sports achievements which were realized through the great support , due care and firm encouragement of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani , who is also Chairman of the Qatar Olympic Committee. HE the QOC Secretary-General also called for investing such a grand accomplishment Nasser and Moataz, have achieved in London to be a great incentive for young people to join the archery, athletics and follow suit these two Qatari heroes . Our Olympic star Moataz Barsham presented his deep thanks to HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani ,the Emir and HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani the Heir Apparent and Chairman of the Qatar Olympic Committee, who have provided great support and care. Qatar's champion and world high jump start Barsham succeed brilliantly to book his availability in the finals of the high jump event among the world best 14 champions in the world who could secure their advanced ranks in London Olympic Games. He also presented his thanks to HE Sheikh Joan Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani for the warm reception which was organized to him and the Qatari delegation along with the champion Nasser Al-Attiyah who claimed another Olympic medal. The Olympian Barsham also thanked HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee for his support to all the Qatari teams. Moreover, Barsham thanked Al Zaini the QAAF President and all the members of the Board of Directors who have contributed to this achievement. Qatar's champion expressed his happiness with the bronze medal he claimed in the high jump at the Olympic Games and the national reception he had in Qatar upon arrival, stressing that his next aspiration is making another achievement in 2013 in the World Championship that will be organized the Russian capital Moscow in August,2013.
