Qatari Swimmers Shine in GCC Water Games

Manama, September 22 (QNA) - Qatar s swimming team made impressive show of force in the 22nd GCC Water Games Championship in Bahrain to earn six medals in juniors event on Friday. Abdulrahman Khalid Al-Kuwari confidently won two gold medals in 50 m freestyle and 50 m butterfly, as his teammate Omar Hosham Yousef clinched double medals, one gold in the 200 m individual event and silver medal in the 100 m butterfly, QOC reported. Abdullah Al-Yahri won the gold medal in 100 m breaststroke as Qatar s team consists of Walid Rafiq Daloul, Omar Hosham Omar, Abdulrahman Khalid Al-Kowari and Noah Abdulaziz Al-Kholaifi clinched gold medal in the 100 x 4 m relay. In the U-14 and 13, Yagoub Abdulaziz Al-Kholaifi won double medals, silver medal in the 200 m individual and silver medal in the 100 m butterfly. In the wake of Friday s positive result, the swimmers raised the country s medal tally to 11. The championship is organised by Bahrain Swimming Association (BSA) and involves swimmers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman and Qatar. (QNA)
