Qatar 2022 Committee Sec. Gen. Meets British Delegation

Doha, December 12 (QNA) - The Secretary General of Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee Hassan Abdullah Al-Thawadi met here today with British delegation that included the Sports and Tourism Minister and MP Hugh Robertson, the president of the London 2012 Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games 2012 Lord Sebastian Coe, the British Ambassador to Doha Michael Angus O'Neill and CEO of the British Council Martin Davidson. Talks during the meeting addressed topics of mutual interest, including those relating to hosting major sporting events where Al-Thawadi highlighted the key aspects contained in a Qatar's successful bid for hosting the world cup 2022 and progress made by the Supreme Committee for Qatar 2022 towards developing and implementing the plans to ensure the success of event. After both Minister Robertson and Lord Coe talked about various aspects related to the management and organization of the Olympic Games held earlier this year in London, the two sides agreed to continue to exchange experiences and knowledge in the future. The British delegation was briefed on the special film produced during the phase of Qatar's bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2022 and submitted to the FIFA's inspection team, summarizing unique concept proposed by Qatar to host this event and bring it to the Middle East for the first time.
