Indonesian Racers Ready For F4/SEA
SEMARANG, C. Java, Nov 11 (Antara) - Indonesian racers have expressed their readiness to compete in the Formula 4 South East Asia (F4/SEA) race at the Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, West Java, slated for November 11-13.
F4/SEA spokesperson for the media, Farah Aziz said via email in Semarang, Central Java, on Thursday, that Presley Martono (Car # 32) and Keanon Santoso (Car # 88) have reached the Sentul International Circuit to prepare for the event along with their racing coach.
Presley Martono announced that the race would be a special moment for him because his friends will be there to support him.
Surely, he noted, it would help motivate him to achieve a good result.
"It will be wonderful to race of so many people supporting me as it is something I have rarely experienced, because usually it is only my father who has been supporting me in the races before. I am also happy to race here because I do not have to go too far for this event. I am looking forward to racing in Sentul as I have never raced at this track, even though I've been doing exercises with the simulator," he commented.
He acknowledged that this circuit was quite difficult to remember as it is marked by a lot of corners that are angled and have a negative, thus making it imperative to choose a proper race track.
"Overall, I think the F4/SEA race in Indonesia offers a tremendous opportunity to boost the racing sport sector here, and will strengthen the foundation to advance the sport of racing in Indonesia," he noted.
Keanon Santoso said ahead of this week's round, he feels more confident because he will enjoy a little advantage over other drivers, as he was quite familiar with this track.
According to him, this track is quite different from the other tracks, because it is much more difficult than tracks in Sepang (Malaysia) or Clark (Philippines).
"I like the twists at high speed around bend 2 and the last corner. Chicane on this track is also really fun to pass by. I am also glad we came back to the clockwise oriented track, because it slightly eases the pressure on our neck. Hopefully, I will be able to climb on the podium. I will put in my best effort to raise the Indonesian flag," he observed.
