Azerbaijani chess players take lead at European Championship in Antalya

Baku, November 14, AZERTAC
Azerbaijani U12 chess player Ahmad Khagan has scored 6.5 points after seven rounds moving to top of the European Youth Chess Championship 2022 held in Antalya, Turkiye.
Another Azerbaijani chess player Jahandar Azadaliyev ranks 2nd with 5.5 points in the U16 men`s event.
Female player Leyla Mirzaliyeva also tops the table with 6.5 points.
The European Youth Chess Championship 2022 is being played in 6 age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18, open and girls sections separately.
The Swiss system tournament, which features 9 rounds, will run until November 15.
The championship brought together about 1000 chess players from 46 countries.
