Turkmen President to attend SCO summit in Beijing

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 5 / Trend / President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will head a government delegation at the 12th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which is scheduled for June 6-7 in Beijing, Turkmen State News Agency reported. Berdimuhamedov will attend the summit as a distinguished guest at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao. During his visit to Beijing Turkmen President will also hold a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart and discuss the current state and further intensification of the two countries' cooperation. The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation. It was established by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in Shanghai on June 15, 2001.
