Suhail calls on Italy to have an active role in Iraq’s return to the international community

Baghdad (NINA) - First Deputy of Parliament Speaker, Qusay Al Suhail, discussed with the Italian Ambassador in Baghdad, Gerardo Karante, today, relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields in addition to Italian investment companies entering to Iraq. A statement issued by Suhail’s office quoted him as saying "Iraq is looking forward to building better relations with Italy, especially in the fields of politics, economy, trade, oil, energy, water resources, in a way that serves the aspirations of the two peoples." Suhail called for a bigger Italian role in the return of Iraq to its position in the international community, as Italy is capable of this role because of the historical depth and experience in governing. He renewed his call for Italian companies to invest in Iraq, especially as it is entering a new phase of reconstruction and building.” /End/
