Security provision for former Azerbaijani presidents and their families to be discussed

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 4 / Trend M. Aliyev /
The Azerbaijani Parliament will submit the Constitutional Law on 'Providing Security of ex-Azerbaijani Presidents and their families' on June 12 during a series of votes, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Parliament Akif Tavakkuloghlu told Trend today.
He said that about 10 questions will be submitted for discussion at the upcoming parliament meeting on June 12.
The agenda includes the bill for the Town Planning and Building Code (second reading), as well as bills on changes and amendments to the laws on 'Territorial system and administrative-territorial division' and 'Receiving information', to the Code of Administrative Violations.
In accordance with the constitution, the law will apply to people who have held presidential office and also in respect of people working as the president, but died. It is also in respect of people working as president and whose powers were suspended, as well as members of their families. The law will not apply to a president dismissed as a result of impeachment.
In the absence of a wife, the children will receive the pension when they reach 18.
The project provides a former president with a state car, a driver and three bodyguards. In the case of the death of an ex-president, his family will receive cash security instead of a car.
Ex-presidents and their spouses will be provided with diplomatic passports. Their inviolability will be protected by law. If an ex-president and his wife commit a crime, they may be detained upon the prosecutor's order.
Regarding ex-presidents and their families, the bill envisages a law on the medical care for state employees.
