Parliament accepts agreement on military exercises

Astana, June 18, 2008, Khabar - The deputies of Senate have accepted the amendments to the laws on bankruptcy and internal affairs institutions as well approved an international agreement
The organisation currently unites 14 states. The document regulates the statue of
the Armed Forces and techniques which will take part in such exercises as well
procedures their cross the borders. According to the Senators, the introduction of
the laws enables to increase level of operational readiness of the Armed Forces of
the SCO -states and provide security and stability in the region.

Bulat Sembinov, deputy Defence Minister of RK:

- Joint exercises with the frame to the agreement are aimed at improvement of skills
and interaction of the armed forces of SCO-states upon addressing the issues of fighting terrorism.

The implementation of the agreement will contribute to combining
of efforts in the interests of security and stability in the region. (Khabar Agency)
