Maliki calls for increasing cooperation with Japan, intensify its companies’ presence in Iraq

Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki, during a meeting with Japanese ambassador to Iraq, Susuma Ha Segawa, called for increasing cooperation between the two countries and intensify the presence of Japanese companies in Iraq. Maliki stressed, according to a statement issued by his office, the need to raise the level of political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries in all international forums to serve the friendly relations between Baghdad and Tokyo. For his part, the Japanese ambassador reiterated his government’s interest in the upcoming visit of Maliki to Tokyo, declaring that Japanese companies are looking forward to increase their presence in Iraq. /End/
