Libyan Central Bank governor says economy getting better

TRIPOLI (A.A) - January 16, 2011 - Libyan Central Bank Governor Al-Seddiq Omar al-Kabir has said that Libyan economy was getting better day by day. Speaking to AA correspondent, al-Kabir said that Libya passed through a difficult economic process after the uprising that began in the country in February 2011. New economic system was promising after the transition process, he said. Al-Kabir said that they were exerting great efforts to provide the best economic circumstances to the Libyan people in the future. Al-Kabir said they hoped that nearly 100 billion U.S. dollars under the mattress would bring a boost to the economy and they had plans for the amount to be circulated in economy. "We are restructuring economy of Libya. We have reached a good point recently. We believe that it will get better," he said. Libyan investors would have a bright future, he said. Al-Kabir said they were grateful to Turkish government and people for their support to restructuring process in Libya. He said they were eager to boost economic cooperation with Turkey.
