Iranian president heads route to China

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 5/Trend M. Moezzi Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Industry, Mines and Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari are en route to Beijing to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) June 6-7 summit. Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet with heads of state including China's President Hu Jintao and Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Ghazanfari will meet with his counterparts, visit several large industrial companies, meet with Iranian expats and give a speech at Peking University, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reports. Iran has observer status in the SCO, a security alliance that includes China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
