Four NGOs to observe 2021 presidential election

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In compliance with the law on presidential election, nongovernmental organizations are entitled to observe the upcoming presidential election scheduled on June 9, 2021. The election observing NGOs must be independent and have its own charter with space for civic participation and not operate under any political parties, as stated in the law. The General Election Commission has approved and registered four following local NGOs to conduct independent observation of the election: Mongolian Information Development Association – MIDAS NGO, Mongolian Parent-Teacher Association NGO, General Council Umbrella Networks of Disabled People’s Organizations NGO Youth Policy Watch NGO As reported by the GEC, these NGOs all have experience in observing elections and will be observing election process and procedures, including the list of voters, voting software and equipment, implementation of relevant regulations, vote counting process, and information accessibility for people with disabilities throughout the election campaigning and at voting stations, etc.
