Enemy Tries To Provoke Sectarian Violence: Velayati

Tehran, March 2, IRNA – Supreme Leaderˈs senior advisor for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati warned against enemyˈs plots to provoke sectarian violence in the Muslim world. Velayati made the remarks in a press conference here on Sunday. Velayati stressed that the enemy is trying to provoke sectarian violence in Syria, Iraq and Bahrain, underlining the need for consolidation of solidarity among Muslim nations. He referred to two-day international conference themed “Role of Islamic World in Global Power Geometry” and noted that the conference involves over 120 universities as well as educational and research institutes and seminaries. “The international event is to be attended by 60 scholars and thinkers from 32 countries and will be held on March 11.” Velayati added that topics for discussion include patterns and theories of global power geometry, strategic capacities of Islamic world in development global power geometry, challenges facing the Islamic world in the development of global power geometry, achievements of scientific Jihad in development of power geometry and strategic management of developments in transitional eras./end
