Education minister proposes Russian lyceums in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 1 / Trend I. Isabalayeva / Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov has proposed forming Russian lyceums in the country, the official website of the Ministry said today. Mardanov made ​​the proposal at a meeting with a delegation led by head of the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev. He said that the attention to learning the Russian language has been recently increased compared to early 1990s. Mardanov stressed that the Russian language is taught at a high level at Baku schools. He stressed the need to take the appropriate measures to improve education in Russian language schools in the Azerbaijani regions. Head of the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs Konstantin Kosachev expressed satisfaction with the teaching the Russian language in Azerbaijan. He also appreciated the work done to create appropriate conditions for learning the Russian language in Azerbaijan. Accepting Mardanov's proposal, Kosachev said these issues will be worked out soon.
