Army officers to uphold three main Thai institutions
BANGKOK, December 23 (TNA) - Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha said on Friday that all army officers are to always uphold Thailand’s three main institutions, the nation, religions and the monarchy.
General Prayuth reiterated the Royal Thai Army's stance when he visited the first army infantry battalion, Infantry Regiment 23, inside the Surathampitak army camp in the country's northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima Province, insisting that the Royal Thai Army’s top priority is to serve the country’s three main institutions and the well-being of all Thai people.
General Prayuth also called on all army officers to conserve forests and other natural resources, along with protecting the national sovereignty and rending hands to people in hardships, namely recent flood victims.
The Thai army commander-in-chief, meanwhile, gave New Year presents to army officers at the camp and wished them a Happy New Year, praising their contribution to recent relief operations for flood-affected people, acknowledging that commanders at all levels want all military officers to be safe, as they will have to overcome more tasks in the future.
