World Bank keeps Uzbekistan’s GDP growth forecast at 8 percent in 2012

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 14 / Trend, D. Azizov / The World Bank (WB) has kept growth forecast of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan at 8 percent in 2012, the bank's June report "Global Economic Prospects" says. According to the report, in 2013 Uzbekistan's economic growth is projected at 6.5 percent, while in 2014 - at 6.7 percent. According to the World Bank, Uzbekistan's GDP growth was 8.3 percent in 2011. As it was previously reported, the Uzbek government predicts GDP growth in 2012 at 8.2 percent. Uzbekistan joined the World Bank in 1995. Since 1995, the bank has allocated loans to Uzbekistan worth about 1.46 billion for implementation of projects in the sphere of privatization, financial sector development, upgrading agriculture, energy, improving social infrastructure, health and education.
