Uzbekneftegaz to recycle 95 percent of associated gas by 2016

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 15 /Trend D.Azizov/
Uzbekneftegaz will recycle about 95 percent of its associated petroleum gas (APG) by 2016, Deputy General Director of Uzneftegazdobycha Alimahmud Karimov said at a regional conference in Tashkent on Friday.
The implementation of four investment projects worth $150 million is planned to increase recycling of associated gas to 95 percent from the current 40 percent, he said.
Currently more than 1.5 billion cubic meters are burned in flames with the volume of gas production at 60 billion cubic meters annually, Uzbekneftegaz said.
Recycling associated gas at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant, as well as a group of low-pressure oil fields in Kashkadarya, is associated with the construction of two CS with a total capacity of 900 million cubic meters of gas per year. The construction period is 2013-2014. Funding for projects will be carried out at the own expense of Uzbekneftegaz and within the framework of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
Over the past four years, the volume of burned associated gas was reduced by 3.5 billion cubic meters through the construction of CS and the associated gas gathering systems.
The capacity of NHC Uzbekneftegaz allow to provide an annual natural gas production in the amount of 60 billion cubic meters and liquid hydrocarbons in the amount of 8 million tons.
