UAE Supports Doha Climate Change Conference

Doha, December 04 (QNA) - UAE Minister of Environment and Water Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad has underlined the importance of the 18th United Nations Conference on climate change, currently being held in Doha, under many grave environmental risks facing the world due to climatic changes. The UAE Minister told Qatar News Agency (QNA) following the opening session of the high-level meetings of 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-18) today, that the measures taken by the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to hold this event on global environmental is able to make it a success and achieve its targets . He said that the United Arab Emirates supports the climate conference in Doha as hosting Qatar represents all the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States .. He referred to the GCC countries contributions, initiatives and efforts in finding solutions to the climate change problems, expressing hope that the conference would come out with results that satisfy all participants."(QNA)
