TNI, POLRI Ready to Secure IORA Summit

JAKARTA, IORA – Indonesian National Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia [TNI]) and Indonesian National Police (Kepolisian Republik Indonesia [POLRI]) are ready to secure the IORA Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia by holding preparation ceremony of Allied Forces for VVIP Security. “This assignment on handling VVIP security can not be taken lightly since anything can happen. Therefore, TNI always takes anticipation and becomes full alert since earlier,” said Liutenant General Edy Rahmayadi, the commander of Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) in responding the media after presiding the preparation ceremony of Allied Forces for VVIP Security of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit in 2017 at Plaza Mabes TNI (TNI headquarter), Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Tuesday (2/28). TNI alertness is also realised by arranging this kind of ceremony for VVIP security, he said. “Everything has been anticipated. There is no additional person to the forces to be on duty in this VVIP security,” he added.’ Furthermore, he conveys that this ceremony is a leadership element and its forces along with the defense system primary tools of TNI. “To secure the enforcement of IORA Summit during 5 – 7 March 2017, around 12,000 personals of TNI and Polri will be deployed.\ The IORA Summit will be attended by 21 heads of state and government, 8 international organizations and 7 dialog partners.
