Third Youth Theater Festival Concludes

Doha, December 29 (QNA) - "The freedom we enjoy today under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and HH the Heir Apparent is the only guarantee of creativity, for there is no creativity without freedom," HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari said. Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 3rd Youth Theater Festival, which organized by the youth activities and events department at the ministry from 23 to 29 December, HE Dr Al Kuwari said that the ministry has spared no effort in providing facilities and necessary assistance for the success of this festival. It has provided an unprecedented financial support for sports clubs and youth centers which presented their plays during this festival, and allocated prize money to all elements of theatrical work, besides providing moral, literary support for plays presented on the Qatar National Theatre, he added. He also noted that the festival drew attention to the striking talent enjoyed by young Qataris in the theatrical field, stressing that this festival is a real testament to the role played by the ministry in encouraging young people and developing their skills. HE Dr Al Kuwari said that this role is an implementation to the attention attached by the leadership to the youth, adding that a set of programs have been developed within the framework of Qatar Vision 2030 and the National Strategy 2011 - 2016 to educate young people about their role in serving the country and to meet their aspirations and ambitions. HE the Minister presented awards to the winners and honored the pioneers of theatrical arts in Qatar. (QNA)
