Spiritual Leader Urges Uniting Efforts on Climate Change
Doha, November 29 (QNA) - An International Society that strives to stop Global Warming, "United Green Care" called on civil societies on Thursday for uniting their efforts to best benefit of the 18th conference of the parties (COP18) bids aiming to cut emissions and for a second commitment period of Kyoto Protocol.
Addressing a press briefing here today on the sidelines of the COP18 climate talks currently in progress in Doha, Founder of "United Green Care" non-profit organization, Soham Baba raised the voices of those suffering the sequels of the natural disasters and called on countries to give them a hand and grant them refugees privileges.
He spoke of his experiences with natural disasters including the burdens of Tsunami on the people in Sri Lanka and India, and quakes in Iran pointing to the emotional disturbance that these events leave people with.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the spiritual leader said that he resorted to create and establish various missions and associations to aid the natural disasters victims and raise funds for them, as the governments have been showing no support to save them.
Soham Baba reiterated that this round of climate talks in Doha is an opportunity to engage in discussions and exchange views and experiences between groups of various religions, backgrounds and perspectives.
The Founder of "United Green Care" non-profit organization further said it’s a "good step" on the way to bids aiming to face Climate change perils. (QNA)
