Shura Council hails Bahraini press

Manama, Apr 28 (BNA) – Marking the World Press Freedom Day, which falls on the 3rd of May, Shura Council praised the objectivity enjoyed by the local press and its role in highlighting the development transformation witnessed by Bahrain and keeping abreast of global developments. The celebration comes to embody the principles of freedom, openness, transparency and freedom of opinion and responsible expression. Shura Council hailed the role of the Bahraini Journalists Association and the keenness of all journalists to maintain national unity, strengthen the spirit of social harmony and tolerance, confront calls of violence and extremism and respect the others' rights and personal freedoms.
