Rohani: Any adventurim in Middle East will endanger regional, global stability

Tehran, Aug 31, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani said on Wednesday that any adventurism in the region would entail irreparable consequences. Addressing his weekly cabinet meeting, Rohani called recent regional developments worrying, and warned, Any adventurism in the Middle East would endanger regional and global stability. He said people of the world, especially in the region, are not ready for a new war and warned that any adventurism in the region would only result in promotion of extremism and terrorism. He noted that threats or use of force would be detrimental to the stability, and security of the world. As a major victim of chemical weapons, the Islamic Republic of Iran is a pioneer of the campaign against such inhumane weapons and strongly condemns any application of such arms. The President said the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes that those responsible for use of chemical arms should be identified and brought to justice. The UN should investigate recent use of chemical weapons and announce the result clearly based on the field realities including the type of chemical substances used and how their had been transferred to the Takfiri groups in Syria. He underlined that any action taken in that connection should be within the frameworks of the international laws, aiming to speedily end civil war and extremism in the region.
