Qatari Working Paper before Arab Senior Officials' Meeting In Cairo
Cairo, April 04 (QNA) - The Council of Arab Ministers Affairs and Social Development began their meeting at the General Secretariat of the Arab League here on Wednesday at the level of senior officials under the chairmanship of Egypt, which is represented by Ambassador Ahmed Abul Khair.
The meeting was also attended by other senior officials of the social affairs and development in the Arab countries.
Ambassador Abul Khair said that the meeting aims to prepare for the second substantive session of the Council of Ministers Affairs and Social Development to be held at the Arab League on May 28, under the title, "The role of the Council of Ministers Affairs and Development for the social in dealing with the requirements of the current stage and the region is witnessing the changes and transformations.
A two-member delegation comprising each of Mohamed Ghanem Al-Mohannadi , the Director of the Legal Affairs Department at the Social Affairs Ministry and Affan Ash-Shammlan , the Assistant Director Of Policy And Social Programme Planning Department at the ministry , represent Qatar to the meeting.
Al Mohannadi underlined in remarks to the correspondent of Qatar News Agency (QNA) in Cairo the importance of such a meeting during which the participants will discuss the Five-Year Plan for Development 2012/2016.
He noted that Qatar is keen to support social development in the countries of the region and thus Qatar has offered a working paper to the meeting noting that the paper includes many of the proposals with regard to the terms of the plan which emphasize in its parts of the social care and care for the elderly and women's empowerment,.
Elaborating the Qatari senior official said he exchanged views with the Arab experts participating in the meeting noting that the participants agreed on the need to come out of the care circle to the social employment one on the Arab level and revitalizing the resolutions these meetings will adopt particularly under the challenges produced by the Arab Spring Revolutions and the need to care for social development.
