A Qatari Delegation to Visit Gaza Next Week

Gaza, September 18 (QNA) - Minister of Public Works and Housing in the deposed Palestinian government , Dr. Yusuf Subhi Al-Ghuraiz, said that a high-level Qatari delegation headed by HE Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi will visit the Gaza Strip next week, where a number of projects included in the Qatari grant for the reconstruction of Gaza are expected to be launched. The Palestinian minister made the remarks during an inspection tour he made Tuesday to a number of proposed sites for the establishment of the Sheikh Hamad residential City. He said that he had a telephone conversation with Ambassador Al-Emadi on a number of understandings included in the Gaza Reconstruction Document, adding that they discussed the mechanisms of managing and running the Qatari grant projects. Al-Ghuraiz expected laying the foundation stone for a number of projects, the most important of which is the rehabilitation and maintenance of Salah Al-Din road that links Wadi Gaza with Rafah crossing, the Sheikh Hamad Residential City and the Prosthetics Hospital in addition to a number of projects worth more than USD 100 million, noting that the Qatari Grant is approximately USD 300 million. Meanwhile Dr. Yusuf Al-Ghuraiz expressed gratitude to HH the Emir and the people of Qatar for the generous efforts in supporting the development project in Gaza, considering the State of Qatar to be among the leading countries in supporting Palestinian people in their plight, as it established several active initiatives for the reconstruction of Gaza.
