Qatar Signs a MoU with UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinating Office

Doha, April 05 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the "Regional briefing for consolidated humanitarian appeal for 2012 session which opened here earlier today. The MoU was signed for Qatar by HE Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Jabor Al Thani while it was signed for the other side by Valerie Ann Amos, th UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. The MoU deals with how best to achieve the optimal cooperation and coordination between the two sides , Qatar and OCHA as regard efforts made to extend humanitarian assistance to the needy countries whose people suffer from crises that badly affecting their lives and how best to confront these crises.(QNA)
