Qatar Airways Honors Qatari Pilots and Engineers
Doha, December 19 (QNA) - Qatar Airways has honored a group of Qatari pilots and engineers who completed leadership courses to hone their skills.
Some 14 pilots underwent a joint training course entitled "The First Line Management" at the airline s head office in Doha and at the headquarters of the manufacturer of the European aircraft, Airbus, in Toulouse.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said upon handing honoring certificates to the trainees that the course demonstrated the close strategic cooperation the airline had with Airbus, a key business partner.
"We are delighted to have teamed up with Airbus in the area of learning and development to further give our employees the necessary skills to become better in their field," Al Baker said.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways Vice-President Nationalisation Dr. Kholode Al-Obaidi added "Through Airbus Air Business Academy, our pilots and engineers have developed an understanding of Airbus cutting edge approach to leadership within the aviation industry.
"This course is also a further step towards giving our Qatari employees vital qualities and characteristics to become leaders of the future," she said.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 15 years of operations, currently flying a modern fleet of 116 aircraft to 122 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America. (QNA)
