Premier thanked by Alba Trade Union

Manama, Apr.21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa has today received a cable of thanks from Alba Trade Union for designating the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) to represent Bahrain workers in the 24th Arab Labour Organisation (ALO) Conference in Kuwait. Alba Trade Union paid tribute to HRH the Premier for the move, hailing the firm decisions he had taken ever since the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) was established. In the cable, Alba Trade Union lauded the Premier for his unflinching support to the Bahraini workforce and keenness on catering for their demands by issuing directives to adopt the principle of alternation in representing Bahrain's workers. It hailed the Premier's appreciation of the role of workers in the development efforts as well as keenness on building national trade unions, praising his dedication to serving the nation. It extended deep thanks to the Premier for issuing directives to represent Bahrain's workers on the basis of alternation between trade union federations in upcoming conferences so to as to ensure fairness and neutrality in implementing the criteria which were set by the Labour Ministry. "The decision to designate Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) as a representative of workers is natural, having a strong base of 18,000 workers", the cable said. " Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) was previously denied the honour of representing Bahrain workers under the pretext that the set criteria hadn't been reviewed for lack of time", it added, pointing out that other parties with no patriotic credibility had then been designated to represent Bahrain workers.
