Phu Kradueng to reopen next month

Loei, Sept 20 – The Phu Kradueng National Park will reopen from Oct 1 to May next year after four months of closure to tourists. Loei provincial governor Khumpol Banthaothuk said the high tourist season of Loei would start on Oct 1 and continue until May 31, 2018. Phu Kradueng was one of its tourist attractions and local authorities were campaigning for people to feel fresh air on top of the Phu Kradueng mountain, visit other local attractions like Phu Ruea and Phu Suan Sai national parks, and experience the cultures of Dan Sai, Chiang Khan and Tha Li districts. Thitiphan Jujan, natural resource chief of Loei, said Phu Kradueng was a large sandstone mountain with a big flat top covering about 60 square kilometers. Its beautiful natural features include cliffs, waterfalls, grass fields, pine forests, and a wide range of floral plants and wildlife. Last year 80,000 people visited Phu Kradueng and their spending boosted local economy. After the eight-month opening in October, the Phu Kradueng National Park will close again for four months between June and September for natural rehabilitation. (TNA)
