Ministry of Interior Department Starts Field Survey

Doha, September 13 (QNA) - The Strategic Planning Department (SPD) of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) is currently carrying out field survey on the services rendered by Fire Prevention Department at General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD). The survey, covering different departments of the GDCD, is seeking feedback and opinions of citizens and residents on the quality of services offered, the MoI said in a press release. The survey which will continue for a week is part of implementing the operational plans of the Civil Defence. A questionnaire was distributed among the visitors and it focused on two key points - assessment of licensing system and assessment of the services offered. The SPD Director Colonel Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti said this survey is the second of this kind carried out in Fire Prevention Department and is part of SPD work plan for the year 2012-2013. The first one was done in 2010. Public opinion and the level of their satisfaction on the services are being sought assess the feedback and improve the quality of services and simplify the procedures. The objective is to efficiently provide top quality services, deploying high technology, to clients. Colonel Al Sulaiti said the MoI is giving importance to public opinion surveys as it has a key role to play in supporting the process of decision-making and to understand the competency of services offered to the public. The results of the survey will also identify the shortcomings and help the Ministry to improve the quality of services offered by the various departments. Such surveys are vital to measure the progress in achieving the goals of the MoI Strategy for 2011-2016, particularly the objectives of the project 'Construction Safety and Reducing Fires by Half' which is being implemented as part of the strategy of safety and security that comes under the purview of the National Development Strategy for 2011-2016, the MoI said.
