Doha, October 22 (QNA) - Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced that 690 electricity distribution stations, 17 transfer stations and 1010 electricity transformers have been put to operation in the electricity distribution network during the year 2012.
KAHRAMAA said in a press release on Monday that it is carrying out a number of projects to keep pace with the increasing demand on electricity and water, motivated by its commitment to the development plans and the 2030 vision for comprehensive development in all sectors including, of course, Electricity Sector.
The statement highlighted Kahramaa's keenness on implementing a number of strategic plans in order to meet the demand on electricity and to provide high-quality electrical supply, according to international standards of health, safety and the environment, which is one of the basic objectives of the Kahramaa.
Kahramaa announced its full readiness to provide GCC countries with electric power in the event of any emergency or upon request, through the GCC electric interconnection network, attributing that to the completion of launching the final stages of Girtas and Messaid Power plants. (QNA)
