Jaafari From Rome Calls On Int'l Community To Support Iraq Reconstruction

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari called on the international community to support reconstruction and rebuilding of Iraq after the end of fighting against Daesh terrorist gangs. "The destruction that has taken place in Iraqi cities requires a reconstruction campaign, with the support of the international community," Jaafari said in a speech at the Mediterranean Dialogue Forum in Rome. He added: "Iraq calls on the international community to play a positive role in reducing tension in the region," adding: "The Daesh gangs, like any threat, invest areas of tension; and we do not need to open any problem in the Middle East, especially in the Iraqi neighborhood." "We wish all countries to enter Iraq through investment, reconstruction and construction.
