House Speaker Begins Regional Tour To Support Holding A Summit Of Islamic Parliaments in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / NINA / House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri begins a regional tour includes a number of Muslim countries to rally support for a summit of Islamic Parliaments in Baghdad. A statement for Jubouri's office said "The tour comes to rally support of a summit of the Islamic parliaments after news that says some countries are reluctant from participating because of the security situation." The statement added: "al-Jubouri will begin his tour, which coincides with the pre-holiday of Eid al-Futr, with Turkey and Jordan and he intends to include Kuwait and Iran." The summit's agenda includes a discussion of Muslim countries to support Iraq in its war against terrorism and develop mechanisms to combat extremism with the participation of all Member States in this project. / End
