HMC to Enhance Medical Care Services

Doha, October 23 (QNA) - Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has launched a radical and comprehensive transformation in services and nursing practices in order to provide effective and high-quality health care services for patients. The comprehensive transformation will see HMC recruit new highly-trained and qualified nursing staff, and invest significant resources in education, training and research so as to develop and prepare future nursing leaders. Transformation plans also include the restructuring of administrative governance of the organization's nursing staff so that qualified nursing leaderships would take their place along with medical leaders so as to complement each other and provide multidisciplinary health care services in addition to the overall leadership tasks. HMC Managing Director Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari said the main objective of the transformation is to provide health care services centered primarily on the needs of all patients and their families, adding that every member of the nursing staff will bear new specialized duties and responsibilities that enable the staff deliver effective health care services in accordance with the best international nursing practices. The institution will employ 1,700 nursing staff to work in its eight hospitals and in home health care services. HMC started plans to improve communication skills of the staff and will provide language courses for non-Arab speaking staff. (QNA)
