HH the Qatar’s Heir Apparent Inaugurates QAFCO-6 Expansion Plant

Doha, December 11 (QNA) -HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani patronized the inauguration of QAFCO-6 expansion plant .The inauguration ceremony was held in the celebration hall in Umm-Saeed Industrial City on Tuesday morning. The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah and a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs , the ministers and other dignitaries and guests. Verses of the Holy Quran were recited followed by presentation of documentaries about Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) and QAFCO-6 plant .Then an artistic show of Qatari heritage was presented. Later HH the Heir Apparent inaugurated QAFCO-6 plant when he gave the starting signal through lifting the dhow's sails higher . Then HH the Heir Apparent paid a field tour of the QAFCO-6 plant which enables Qatar to occupy the 1st position globally in exporting urea by 17,000 tonnes per day and the fourth in production for the world markets. Such a production is taking place according to world-known safety standards. Qatar has also the biggest urea stockpile in the world which absorptive capacity amounts to 175,000 tonnes. During the tour HH the Heir Apparent got acquainted with the experimental project for the use of solar energy, sea water and carbon dioxide in agriculture. HH the Heir Apparent highly lauded the project which aims at diversifying the energy sources and using it for reducing the pollution rate and using the modern technology in agriculture.(QNA)
