HH the Heir Apparent Issues Directives for Establishing Wedding Halls

Doha, December 03 (QNA) - HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday issued directives to the Special Engineering Office to construct a number of wedding halls in different parts of the country in support of the Qatari youth intending to get married. Upon the directives the new weddings halls will be free for Qataris. These directives comes to reflect attention of the leadership to the various projects and areas that serve the Qatari youth in accordance with the clear objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, with human development as one of its basic pillars. The Engineering Office will execute and supervise all projects, the first of which is the wedding hall complex, at Al-Rafaa area, which design is inspired by the Qatari Heritage. The project consists 5 halls, with capacity of 500 persons each. It is designed in a way that allows merging the five halls to be one large hall with a capacity of 2500 persons. The new halls will be equipped with all the required audio and visual technologies. The highest safety measures are to be considered in the new halls. A 260 thousand square meter plot was dedicated to the complex. It will include the buildings and the facilities which will be built on 15 thousand square meters, in addition to open and green areas, five gates and large number of car parking spaces. The project will start during the two coming months and expected to be finished by 2014. (QNA)
