HH the Emir Chairs Meeting of Supreme Council

Doha, November 11 (QNA) - HH the Emir and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani today presided over the Council's fourth meeting for the year 2012, held at the Emiri Diwan. The meeting was attended by HH the Heir Apparent and Deputy Chairman Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Executive Member of the Council Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani. HE the Minister of Economy and Finance and Secretary General of the Council Youssuf Hussain Kamal told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Council discussed topics on the agenda and took note of the provision on the follow-up of the Counicl's previous resolutions and the relevant procedures that have been taken. He added that the agenda included approval of the general budget of the Council for the fiscal year 2013/2014 and directives on the use of compressed natural gas as a fuel in the transport sector in the State of Qatar, in addition to approving the establishment of a joint venture between Qatar Electricity and Water Company, Qatar Holding Company and Qatar Petroleum International for investment in the electricity sector abroad.
