HE Qatar’s Culture Minister Attend Launch of Theater Festival

Doha, December 23 (QNA) - HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari attended Sunday the launch of the Third Youth Theater Festival on Qatar National Theater. The opening play was entitled "Bait Al Qaseed" (the bottom line), performed by Al Jasra Cultural and Social Club. The festival will take place until December 29, with six clubs taking part. They are, in addition to Al Jasra, Al Rayyan, Al Sadd, Al Arabi and Al Shababi Center for Performing Arts and Doha youth's center. HE the Minister of Culture noted that the festival was improving year on year in terms of artistic maturity, and expressed his hope that the festival succeeds in presenting new ideas and visions that push the performing arts movement forward. Responding to a question by Qatar News Agency on preparations to host the Arab Theater Festival and the play that will represent the State of Qatar, HE the Minister of Culture said that hosting the festival was a result of the Ruler of Sharja Sultan Al Qasimi's confidence in Doha's ability to host the big cultural event. It was also the Ruler's testimony of Qatar's status as a cultural hub. His Excellency stressed that the Ministry was more than ready to make the festival a huge success. On the Qatari play in that festival, HE the Minister confirmed that "Al Ard Al Akheer" (The Final Show) was chosen to represent the State of Qatar this year. (QNA)
