GROUP OF PEOPLE SELLING NATIONAL STANDARDISED KEYS DETAINED
Almaty, June 4 (Khabar) - The Almaty National Security CommitteeDepartment has said it had detained a group of fraudsters who were selling keys to the National Standardised Test.
Last year a similar ring got away with the crime due to the lack of a relating law governing such breaches but this year the amended legislation can send those found guilty to five years behind imprisonment and confiscation of property.
Nevertheless, the measures seem not to have been enough to stop the lawbreakers.
Kairzhan Kamzayev, senior investigator, Almaty National Security Committee Department: - Certain people charged with the crime were collecting money from the children's parents promising help in providing the keys to the test.
The immediate measures we have undertaken on the same day the test was done helped to detain these people and prevent the leakage of the data.
The National Security Committee stated the state secret hadn't been leaked, with most of the breaches coming from students. Over just 2 days in Almaty, alone, more than 30 people were prevented from taking their mobile phones to the examination room and 5 entrants had their cell phones withdrawn in the examination room in the middle of the test. In addition, two people trying to do the test instead of the registered entrants were also arrested.
Kairzhan Kamzayev, senior investigator, Almaty National Security Committee Department: - The state commission had taken all the necessary measures with regard to the entrants involved in the crimes to overrule their test results.
The National Security Committee said the work will be conducted until the end of the National Standardised Test. (Khabar Agency)
