French Environment Minister Hails Qatari-French Relations
Doha, December 06 (QNA) - French Minister of Environment and Energy Delphine Batho has praised the growing Qatari-French relations on political, economic cultural levels praising the deeply rooted friendship relations between the two countries.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines the United Nations 18th Conference on Climate Change, currently under way in Doha, said she met yesterday with HE the Minister of Environment Abdullah bin Mubarak bin Aabboud Al-Maadhadi and had talks with him on important topics related Doha talks on climate change and the international commitment keep the Earth's temperature below two degrees.
She added that the talks also dealt with the bilateral cooperation between the State of Qatar and the French Republic in the field of renewable and clean energy and technology, expressing the hope that bilateral relations in these areas would be strengthened.
Patho praised Qatar's initiative to sponsor the climate change negotiations, held for the first time in the Arab Gulf region, saying that indicates its serious commitment to reducing global warming caused by carbon emissions as part of international efforts to address the implications of climate change."
The French official delegation to the climate change negotiations in Doha is led by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, French Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pascal Canfin as well as the Environment and Energy Minister.(QNA)
