Foreign Minister participates in Warsaw Summit, meets Polish counterpart

Warsaw, Feb. 14 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, today took part in the Summit on Peace and Security in the Middle East, being held here in the Republic of Poland, in the presence of US Vice-President, Mike Pence. Mike Pence paid tribute to the tangible efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in confronting Iran's terrorism, especially its serious threats to international navigation. As to Shaikh Khalid, he expressed thanks and appreciation to the United States of America for holding this conference, which reflects its pivotal strategic role and continued keenness to cooperate with its allies in the region to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and seek solutions to its problems and crises. He affirmed that the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this conference stems from its keenness to promote international joint action at all levels and support all the efforts aimed at establishing security and peace in the region. Shaikh Khalid stressed the need for such efforts to continue in order to reach solutions, safeguard the sovereignty of States and prevent all forms of external interference in their affairs as well as to eliminate all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism. On the sidelines of the conference, Shaikh Khalid met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland,Jacek Czaputowicz, and expressed his appreciation to the Republic of Poland for hosting this important conference, which reflects its keenness on reinforcing security and peace in the Middle East. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain’s keen desire to consolidate and broaden its friendly relations with the Republic of Poland for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples, pointing to the importance for officials of both sides to exchange visits and continue interacting to achieve these goals. For his part, the Polish Minister appreciated Shaikh Khalid’s participation at the summit and praised the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its tireless efforts to promote peace and security in the region. At the end of the meeting, Shaikh Khalid extended an invitation to Czaputowicz to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of common endeavors to develop relations and promote joint cooperation.
