FM: Erdogan's Statements on Mosul's liberalization Unacceptable and Represent a Flagrant Interference In Iraq's Internal Affairs

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Ministry rejected the statements repeated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the battle to liberate Mosul, considering those statements blatant interference in Iraqi internal affairs and a violation to the principles of the bilateral relations and good neighborliness. He stressed that "the liberation of Mosul from Daesh will be by the Iraqis themselves without having to be dragged to any form of regionalization to this battle or make way to make it a theater for the international struggle of wills. The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed his country's keenness not to allow what he called any sectarian sovereign on Mosul, because the only goal is to clear it from Daesh ", appealing to all parties to unite to achieve this goal. Erdogan said in a television interview with the channel "Rotana" "Mosul is to the people of Mosul and Tal Afar to the people of Tal Afar and no one is entitled to come and enter these areas." Erdogan added, "The people of Mosul only who should stay in Mosul after its liberation, Sunni Arabs and Sunni Turkmen, Sunnis Kurds, and the popular mobilization forces should not enter Mosul."
