Doha Hosts 5th Annual Bridges Middle East Next Sunday
Doha, November 04 (QNA) - Doha will host the 5th Annual Bridges Middle East Summit that will be co-located with Tunnels Middle East from 11 - 13 November at the Ritz-Carlton.
With support from Qatar Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Qatar Society of Engineers and Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI), the event focuses on the many projects planned across the country, as Qatar is investing over US $20 billion for developing bridges, tunnels and interchanges in order to link the railway and road projects within the city and to the rest of the GCC. The conference is a unique opportunity to share best practice and highlight key solutions to the latest challenges in the Middle East's transportation, bridges and tunnels industries.
Industry leaders, including representatives from, Ashghal, Qatar Bahrain Causeway, Ministry of Interior Qatar, Qatar Foundation and Department of Transport Abu Dhabi will attend the conference of more than 150 international executives who are shaping the future of bridge and tunnel design and construction in the region.
The summit kicks off on Sunday 11 November with a tunnels focus day focusing on the challenges of delivering tunnels that align with Qatar's 2030 vision of developing a world class infrastructure network. The Bridges Middle East Summit follows on Monday 12 November and Tuesday 13 November. Many of the attendees are returning for the 4th annual event in 2011 to which they commented 'the conference was well planned and had high caliber presenters and quality papers that helped in ideas, experience and knowledge sharing.'
