Budding Qatari Leaders Sharpen Art of Negotiation at Key Course

Doha, December 17 (QNA) - Harvard International Negotiation Programme and Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) Monday concluded a two-day training course on negotiation for current and future leaders at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha. Harvard International Negotiation Programme Founder and Director Dr. Daniel Shapiro led the Executive Education programme that was held on December 16 and 17 . The course was tailored to help equip Qatari Government and business leaders with key frameworks and tools to maximize value in their negotiations and enhance effective working relationships. QLC Board Member and Executive Director HE Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Thani said, "The art of negotiation forms a core component of the growing international business landscape. Our unique programmes are aligned with the 2030 vision and we will continue to utlise world class development practices to equip our future leaders with the skills and expertise to be able to drive the nation for years to come." The programme, entitled, 'Capturing the power of Negotiation' is tailored for QLC's 25 35 year old age group offering insights into the art of negotiation based on the Harvard international negotiation framework and forms part of the Global Curriculum on Conflict Management for Senior Policy Makers. Director of Strategy and Performance Khaled El Gohary said, "This course provides our Current and Future Leaders with the skills, tools and techniques in the art of negotiation and for business, this is invaluable." The negotiation teaching methodologies including lectures on negotiation theory and practical tools, case study analysis as well as application and knowledge sharing techniques. Participants in the Current and Future Leaders Programme 2012 will benefit from courses provided by QLC's strategic partners, Harvard Business School, Al Jazeera Training Centre, The Cambridge Faculty of Arts and Business and HEC Paris.
