Bahrain ready to host major economic events, says minister

Manama, Apr. 4. (BNA) – Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro said that the Government of Bahrain welcomes all events aiming to spur the economy and consolidate Bahrain's deep-rooted prestigious business reputation. He expressed his readiness to patronise all added value economic functions that reflect positively on the national economy and re-affirm the kingdom's distinguished position and strategic location as a hub of mega international events in all fields. Speaking as he received here the CEO of Al Dana and Partners Muneera Al-Mubarak and the Managing Partner and CEO of the Swiss Fergusson Family Partners Dr. Steen Ehlern, Dr.Fakhro praised the private sector's initiatives and fruitful cooperation with the government to create and attract more investments and economic projects to the country, which will help achieve the government's strategies, particularly the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030. In this regard, Muneera Al-Mubarak requested the minister to patronise three economic events to be organised by Al Dana Company, in collaboration with the Swiss company in 2014, noting that the first, Properties Real Estate around the World, will be held in June, the second, Banking & Finance Conference, will be organised in November and the third, the Luxury Collectibles Conference and Exhibition, will take place in December. Al-Mubarak also briefed the minister on Al-Dana company's strategy and future plans aiming to promote the kingdom and attract international investments to it, in light of the facilities and incentives provided by the government in this regard. Dr. Fakhro lauded the remarkable increasing role of Bahraini businesswomen in boosting that national economy. Al-Mubarak expressed sincere thanks to the government for its great efforts aiming to enhance economic growth in the kingdom, constant support for national investment companies and innumerable facilities provided for investors.
