Armenian armed forces continue provocations on front line

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 23 /Trend M.Aliyev/ Armenian armed forces violate ceasefire in several directions. Armenian Armed Forces fired at Azerbaijani positions in several directions on Friday and night on Saturday. The fire was coming from the villages Berdavan of Noyemberyan region of Armenia as well as from the position of occupied territories near the villages Yusifjanly and Merzili of Aghdam region, Gorgan and Ashagi Abdurrahmanli of Fizuli region, Gyzyloba and Geyarh of Terter region and from the nameless heights of Terter, Geranboy and Khojavend regions, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told Trend. Attacks were suppressed by return fire. The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations. Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions. Do you have any feedback?
