Arab League Welcomes HH the Emir's Visit to the Gaza Strip

Cairo, October 24 (QNA) - Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi has welcomed the visit HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani paid to Gaza Strip yesterday, stressing the importance of such efforts exerted to break the illegal siege clamped on Gaza, to contribute to the reconstruction of the Strip and to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. In a press release, issued here this evening, the Arab League Secretary-General expressed the hope that the visit would also contribute to the achievement of Palestinian reconciliation, a goal that we must all work for it, especially since the Palestinian issue is currently passing through an important juncture in the light of the announcement by President Mahmoud Abbas' intention to go to the General Assembly of the United Nations to gain Palestine the status of "observer state" in the international organization.(QNA)
