25th UPC Contains Four-Year Discussions Outcomes, Chairman Says

Doha, September 24 (QNA) - The 25th Universal Postal Congress (UPC) will be a stage to showcase all the issues tackled and discussed over the course of the last four years in postal service sector, Chairman of Qatar Post and the 25th UPC Abdul Rahman Ali Al Aqaily said Monday. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) after the opening plenary, Al Aqaily said that the most prominent points to be addressed in this year's convention are ways of developing postal service sector and the final accounts' statements that shows the final financial statement of firms, and will, as well, go through means of better training and qualifying employees of this sector. He said the issues tackled will be sent to accreditation by the final week of this convention. Meanwhile, Al Aqaily noted that there have been cooperation efforts in the area of postal services among the GCC states specifically and within the Arab world and internationally in a broader basis. He said, however, one of the challenges that are still faced, when it comes to operating internationally, is the tracking of the delivered packages and parcels and the difficulty faced in keeping a quick track of the delivered final financial statement of firms. Al Aqily expressed happiness on the positive impressions he sensed from the guests and UPC attendees. He said guests seem impressed with the level of preparations of the convention and that can be sensed from the "warm smiles" spreading among the UPC atmosphere, this is all thanks to the volunteers and all the UPC working personnel who have shown full-devoted efforts on preparation steps.
