Splendid Chinese Opera, Underwater Lion Dance Performance At Aquaria KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Have you ever witnessed a lion dance performance underwater?
Yes, you read that right! The atypical show can only be watched at the Aquaria KLCC here until Feb 15.
Malaysia's one and only show, 'Under-Sea Opera' organised in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) has attracted more than 15,000 visitors since its debut on Jan 25.
Aquaria KLCC group executive chairman and managing director, Simon Foong said the show featuring the Chinese Opera Theatre and Underwater Lion Dance showcased an actual lion dance and Chinese opera performance in an aquarium.
"This is the sixth year we are organising lion dance performance and to create a new mode this year, we decided to bring along opera performance in our CNY programme.
"Visitors can watch the performers (divers) wearing their splendiferous Chinese traditional attire and lion dance costumes and dancing, exactly as the actual show 'outside the water'," he told reporters during the media preview of Under-Sea Opera here Friday.
Foong said the next underwater lion dance performance would be showcased Friday until Feb 5, followed by Feb 9 until Feb 12 at 4pm.
Other CNY programmes scheduled here until Feb 15 includes 'Feeding Session with the God of Prosperity' at noon and 'Catch the God of Prosperity and Win!' at 11am and 4pm, where visitors can take a selfie and stand a chance to win exclusive Aquaria KLCC goodies.
"There will also be CNY Cool Kids Workshop where the kids are taught how to train a goldfish and also learning the history, culture and beauty of the Koi fish," said Foong.
He added the Aquaria KLCC also offered 18 per cent discount for visitors who purchased three or more admission tickets via online through www.aquariaklcc.com. (photoBERNAMA)
